What was the highlight of Gemma Lodge

Bike hire is available.

It’s a 20 minute drive from town. The property is located down a bumpy dirt road. The place is half finished, there were several builders/ random people walking around the property which felt really uncomfortable. The host was clueless and took her forever to check us in.

It’s a work in progress, but it will look nice when fully...

It’s a work in progress, but it will look nice when fully completed. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was brand new and had a mosquito net. The bathroom was new and functional. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

The hotel is difficult to find on the first day. Maybe the owner could have a couple of signs on the main road and at the entrance of the small path.

The owner and the staff are really nice, friendly, you feel like home. You can rent a scooter at the hostel and you are 5min from the city or the beach.

What was the highlight of Gemma Lodge

recommended if you want to escape El Nido town.

The room was nice and had a large bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and helped us book our onward travel. The free breakfast was nice: eggs, toast, jam and tea/coffee.

The roads approaching the lodge are very bumpy and quite difficult in places to get a bike down. Also the location on maps isn't accurate so you may need to be directed by locals.The wifi is poor and only accessed next to reception, though this is common for Palawan. One morning we had no running water. There is a lot of construction happening at the property so it all feels a bit unfinished ATM, however it should be really nice when completed.

Nothing because is under construction

If you need to stay their for one night it’s ok... and if you don’t want to pay a lot.. the thing is that for the same price you can stay in other place better for sure... The place is so far away it’s not even the same location as google map... when you arrive the hostel is divided in 3 different hostels. When we got to the bedroom was horrible no window the air conditioner wasn’t working. A super big bug wake us up and little ants in the bed... This place is under construction so it looks like it’s war there... after telling our concern to the staff about the room they change us to another room the next night but we needed to push a lot so that we could convince them... we will definitely not come back Only breakfast was ok But the hole place is a mess

What was the highlight of Gemma Lodge

It looks fancy but nothing works properly

When they finish building the place it's gonna look nice, at least I think. There is a mosquito net and a fan in the room. But beware, if the electricity goes out the room gets freaking hot instantly and it's even hard to breathe in it. You can open the windows but it's no use. We had breakfast included, every day freaking eggs. When we arrived we got a 'breakfast menu' where there's also bacon and fruit and other food. We didn't get any of that. They could at least go to the store and buy something considering we stayed there for the whole week. They have an option renting a motorbike but they only have scooters. There is cold water available at all times, but you have to ask the nice serving lady to get it. The area is nice and quiet, and it's not that far from town at all if you have a bike. The lady that was bringing us our breakfast was really nice.

They have all this 'fancy' amenities, like fridge, aircon, a shower, even a pool. Fridge was working maybe 2 hours per day. We could never actually use the shower since there is no water pressure at all. We used a bucket for the whole week. There is aircon, but it works strangely. You turn it on and it needs couple of hours to actually start blowing cool air. When we arrived the lady at front desk proudly said they have a pool. Well, they do but there is no water in the pool. Not sure what the point of telling us was. The place is one big consctruction area because they are still building rooms. They have a generator for when electricity goes out (which happens a lot in el nido) but it only works for the room owners are sleeping in. Pointless. There is a really nice lady working there serving breakfast and bringing you water. They put her in the smallest shack ever while they sleep in a fancy room. That really bugged me. All cup nuddles and other food they have available there are over the expiration date. The lady owner wanted to rip us off in the end and wanted to charge us 2000 pesos more for the scooters. Not sure if this was on purpose or she's just bad in maths.

the place was peaceful with fresh air blowing from the balcony, trees around the place what i love listening birds from the trees singing..... is cool sound

and we enjoy riding on our rented motor bikes we can were free to move from lio beach to nacpan beach we have a great fun
